Hair Micropigmentation done on areas affected by alopecia

Commonly known as ringworm, alopecia is a disease that causes hair to be lost in a circular shape in a specific area. Before understanding how hair micropigmentation is used in order to cover the areas that are affected by alopecia, first we need to understand what causes alopecia and how it is treated.

Known reasons that causes alopecia are:

  1. Genetic: Genetic predisposition is believed to be the most common cause of alopecia. Environmental factors, stress, or viruses can trigger alopecia in these cases. If a person has a family member that had or is having alopecia, it is more likely to suffer from the same condition.
  2. The immune system: Immune system normally protects the body from outside diseases. But in the case of alopecia, the immune system attacks hair roots causing them to fall off.
  3. Stress: Sudden mood changes or stress can cause the immune system to weaken and cause the body to have a much lower tolerance for the main causes of alopecia.

Although hair can regrow after the treatment of alopecia in some cases, this is not true for all who suffer from it. Even if hair regrows, there is no way of knowing if alopecia will relapse or not. Because there are no standard symptoms for alopecia ist is harder to detect. One of the first signs is the cessation of elongation and is usually detected by barbers. There are three stages to alopecia. In the first stage hair is suddenly lost, the loss area widens in the second stage and in the third stage weak white hair regrows. existing hair might be lost while the new hair grows. These stages take a long time to progress.

There are no health problems caused by alopecia other than loss of hair or eyebrows. But this process affects many psychologically. Unfortunately there is no certain treatment for alopecia. Because of this, after the hair loss, many choose hair transplantation or micropigmentation to improve their looks.

How is Hair Micropigmentation done?

First we must mention that hair micropigmentation is more prefered than hair tattoos. Because inks used in hair tattoos are subject to color change due to sweating while this problem is not present with hair micropigmentation. Inks used in hair micropigmentation are naturally extracted from the body in 3 – 5 years. This is very important for skin health in the future. Inks used in hair tattoos are permanent for life and may harm existing hair roots and overall skin health. Needles used in hair tattoos are much larger in their length and width and are more likely to cause infections as well as pain during the application.

Hair micropigmentation is a non-surgical application that is used to simulate the look of hair on the areas suffering from hair loss. This application can be safely done on people suffering from alopecia too. It creates a natural and aesthetic look by simulating the look of natural hair.
