Ink used in hair micropigmentation are specifically produced for this application and differ from hair tattoo inks.
Characteristic of hair micropigmentation ink are:
- These inks are extracted from the body naturally after a period of time in order to preserve skin health.
- These inks are made to not cause any skin problems and are non-cancerogenic.
- They are plant and water based.
- They are anti antiallergic.
- They are prone to color changes due to sweating.
Differences between hair tattoo and hair micropigmentation:
- Needles used in hair micropigmentation are minimal in length and width.
- Inks used in hair micropigmentation do not expand or leak under the skin.
- Inks used in hair micropigmentation do not change color and are sweatproof.
- Inks used in hair micropigmentation are water and plant based, antiallergic, and are made to not harm skin health.
- Needles used in hair tattoos are longer and wider.
- Inks used in hair tattoos can expand and leak under the skin.
- Inks used in hair tattoos are permanent for life and change color in time (a black colored ink can change into blue in time).
- Inks used in hair tattoos can harm hair roots by leaking to the lower levels of the skin.
- Needles used in hair tattoos can cause bleeding and scabbing on the application area.
In order to get the optimum results with hair micropigmentation, some rules and aftercare procedures must be followed after the application. These are:
- Water contact should be avoided in the first 24 hour after the application. After this period, hair can be washed using non-chemical plant based shampoos with warm water without pressure.
- Solarium, Turkish baths, and sauna or other activities that cause sweating should be avoided for the first 4 weeks.
- Direct sunlight should be avoided.
- Dyeing shouldn’t be done in the first 4 weeks after the application to avoid chemicals in hair dye harming head skin.
- Hats or berets shouldn’t be worn for long periods after the application.
- A check-up appointment should be made after 20-30 days after the end of the application to see results and make small adjustments if needed.
