hair micropigmentation after care

Aftercare for hair micropigmentation should be as:

First day:

  • Application area should be allowed to rest.
  • Application area shouldn’t be cleaned or moisturized.
  • Water and soap contact should be avoided.
  • Over sweating should be avoided.
  • Solarium, sauna, and turkish bath should be avoided (first 4 weeks).
  • Hats or berets shouldn’t be worn for long periods.
  • Direct sunlight should be avoided (first 4 weeks).
  • Hair shouldn’t be shaven.
  • Baths should be avoided for the first 24 hours.
  • Hair shouldn’t be dyed (first 3-4 weeks).

After the application:

  • First day rules should be continued to follow.
  • With care, hair can be shaven after the first two days.
  • Shampoos with chemical ingredients shouldn’t be used in the first 2-3 days after the application. Without the use of shampoos, a bath can be taken and the head can be washed with only warm water.
  • Sea swimming should be avoided in the first 4-5 days after the application. Swimming can be done after 5 days if you wear a hat.

What are the continual rules for after care:

  • Sunlight should be avoided with 5spf sunscreen.
  • The check-up appointment should be attended 20-30 days after the last session.
  • If there are multiple sessions, hair should be washed with warm water without the use of shampoos in between the sessions.
  • If the expert recommends a type of shampoo for after sessions, there are no downsides to using it.

If recommendations and rules mentioned above are followed, hair micropigmentation’s lifetime will greatly improve. But it should be known that no hair micropigmentation application is permanent for life. If a center promises a permanent hair micropigmentation solution, correct protocols are not followed for the application. Depending on the type of skin and aftercare, hair micropigmentation has a lifetime of 3-5 years. If the ink color gets saturated or is completely extracted with natural process, application can be redone.

It should be known that slight redness and swelling might occur in the first 1-2 days after hair micropigmentation. Scabbing may also be happening in the application area. These shouldn’t be intervened.

Advantages of hair micropigmentation are:

  • Because of its non-surgical nature, hair micropigmentation shows its result quickly and has a short healing timeline.
  • Risk of infections is very minimal.
  • It can be used to cover the scar or burn marks on the scalp.
  • Because of its temporary nature, if it’s not satisfactory, the old look will be regained after a while.
  • It is a perfect application for people who want to use their hair short.

Disadvantages of hair micropigmentation are:

  • Only the hairstyle that has been decided during the application can be used.
  • Depending on the skin type and aftercare, application has a lifetime of 3-5 years and needs to be redone.
